About Poole Baptist Church.

The Church is situated in the centre of a thriving, busy commercial area with shops, banks, restaurants and café’s close by. The area around the Church includes housing with high rise flats, maisonettes and private housing developments. Poole is at present undergoing a large regeneration program for the lower part of town.

Our story goes back to 1804 when a group of around 24 non-conformists began to meet for worship in the coach-house and stable of Dr. Mitford of the Mansion House on Market Street and just 11 years later in 1815 the present building was erected.

We are a small Church with a big heart and totally self-supporting. At present we have the 19th Minister to serve the Church in the person of the Rev. Roger Smith helped by his wife Margaret.

We meet for worship on Sunday mornings at 10.30 am and appreciate a blend of contemporary and traditional worship styles. We also have a vibrant Sunday School..

We have a weekly Fellowship meeting on Mondays to consider relevant issues in a Christian context and a friendly atmosphere. We have a busy Mums and Toddlers group called Toybox on Tuesday mornings.  On Wednesdays we meet for prayer and bible study and on Thursday mornings we have a prayer meeting for needs within the church. We have an informal meeting for people of any age called Friday Nights.

We have close relationships with other Baptist Churches in Poole and with Churches Together in the area.
